Course Synopsis

Presenter: John Tucker, DMD, DABDSM, DICOI

In this two-day course, Dr. Tucker will cover the latest clinical and technological information in dental sleep medicine, including how it can become a powerful component of comprehensive patient treatment. Attendees will learn simple techniques to overcome issues that commonly prevent dentists from incorporating sleep treatment, including proper screening, patient acceptance, appliance use with TMJ, and reimbursement. In addition, attendees will participate in several hands-on segments demonstrating the importance of nasal breathing and bite registration. Upon completion of this course, participants will have the education and tools necessary to successfully implement dental sleep medicine in their practices.

John Tucker


Dr. John Tucker received his DMD degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine and has maintained a private practice in Erie, Pennsylvania, since 1982. His practice particularly focuses on the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea using oral appliance therapy, and he works directly with sleep physicians and sleep centers to ensure that his patients receive the most positive treatment outcome possible. In addition, Dr. Tucker is founder of Tucker Education Excellence, LLC, which provides continuing education in the field of dental sleep medicine.

Dr. Tucker has lectured throughout the U.S. and published numerous articles about dental implants and prosthetics. He has worked as a consultant for Dentsply Sirona, 3M™ ESPE™, Kerr Corporation, Henry Schein Inc. and Nierman Practice Management. Dr. Tucker is a diplomate of the ICOI, American Society of Osseointegration, American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine, and American Academy of Sleep Medicine. In addition, he has mastership status in the American Academy of Implant Prosthodontics, and is a fellow of the International Academy for Dental-Facial Esthetics.
