Course Synopsis

Presenter: Dr. Chad Duplantis

In this course, Dr. Duplantis explores the latest in digital technology and demonstrates how simple adjustments in the dental practice can help participants produce quality dentistry in a more efficient, predictable and consistent way. Participants will learn in depth about scanners, mills, advancements in indirect materials, and digital implant workflows. Also, through a hands-on workshop, attendees will learn about digital dentistry topics such as everyday scanning on a typodont, single-unit crown design, producing a final restoration using milling, and sprue removal and final polish of a single-unit crown. Many digital dentistry myths will be debunked, and participants will leave with a new outlook on practicing quality dentistry.

Course Objectives

After attending this seminar, attendees will be able to:

  • Become familiar with the digital tools your office needs for success, including scanners, mills and 3D printers
  • Learn the digital workflow for both the dental team and the laboratory, and how it leads to increased efficiency and more predictable outcomes
  • Learn the benefits of an accurate digital smile design and how to transform a 2D rendering into an esthetic smile
  • Visualize the restorative-driven digital implant workflow, including diagnosis, collaborative treatment planning and final restorative outcome
  • Become familiar with new technology designed to maximize success and drastically reduce the chance of failures

Chad Duplantis

Chad Duplantis, DDS

Dr. Chad Duplantis received his DDS degree from the Dental School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, and earned a certificate in advanced education in general dentistry from Texas A&M College of Dentistry. He has been in private practice since 2000 in the Fort Worth, Texas, area. Dr. Duplantis has been incorporating CAD/CAM technology into his practice since 2004. He lectures and publishes frequently in the field of digital dentistry, with a particular focus on how to transition new technology into the private dental practice.
