This course will cover the dental assistant’s role in restorative and cosmetic dentistry, from initial diagnosis to final delivery. Will Schmidt will review everything participants need to deliver exceptional dental care under the scope of their licenses, including initial photography, records collection, preliminary scanning and impression techniques. In addition, participants will learn advanced techniques and tips for isolation, chairside, and prefabricated temporization. Gaining the patient’s acceptance and trust while keeping them motivated through the initial stages leading up to treatment will also be addressed.

Will Schmidt brings more than 18 years of dental experience, including 16 as a registered dental assistant, to his role at Glidewell Dental. He has worked in multiple settings, from private practice, to group practice, to oral surgery in a hospital’s trauma center. Prior to the dental field, Will served as a U.S. Marine, experience that he credits for honing his fine appreciation for detail.
