Course Synopsis

Presenter: Raymond Choi, DDS, M.S.

This surgical hands-on course will provide comprehensive training in removable and fixed mini implant dentistry for any dentist who wants to incorporate mini implants into their practice. For clinicians with no previous surgical experience or those who already place conventional and/or mini implants, this course will provide predictable and proven techniques in mini implant dentistry to improve clinical success, patient satisfaction and profitability. New hybrid digital and traditional denture protocols that can expedite the denture process in less time and fewer visits will also be presented.

Learning Objectives

  • Describe indications and contraindications of mini dental implants
  • Implement mini implant applications for edentulous and partially edentulous patients
  • Demonstrate surgical and restorative protocols of mini dental implants
  • Determine which cases not to treat to avoid headaches and problems
  • Use CBCT for mini implant dentistry
  • Apply removable and fixed restorative options used in conjunction with mini dental implants
  • Implement faster, better, and profitable mini implant techniques and strategies
  • Administer simple and affordable socket grafting techniques
  • Apply denture protocols using digital technology to help improve clinician productivity

Dr. Raymond Choi

Raymond Choi, DDS, M.S.

Dr. Raymond Choi received his DDS from the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC and has taught there for over 10 years as an assistant clinical professor. He is currently an adjunct clinical faculty member at Western University of Health Sciences College of Dental Medicine, and he recently completed a three-year master’s degree program in geriatric dentistry at USC. Dr. Choi is also a fellow of the ICOI, an associate fellow of the AAID, and a graduate of the Misch-Resnik Implant Institute. As a general dentist who has been placing implants for over 20 years in his private practice in Tustin, California, he was one of the first dentists on the West Coast to place mini dental implants for loose-denture stabilization.
