Course Synopsis

Presenter: Raymond Choi, DDS, M.S.

As the largest segment of our population ages, the demand for implant overdentures is expected to grow rapidly and significantly. This course will review a detailed, step-by-step protocol for effective and practical implant overdenture treatment from start to finish. Innovative denture techniques for faster and more accurate outcomes will be presented. In addition to clinical techniques, attendees will learn how to evaluate and treat patients more safely with fewer complications. There will also be a hands-on exercise utilizing implants in a mandibular model.

  • Compare surgical and restorative techniques for successful implant overdentures
  • Diagnose and treatment plan implant overdenture cases for maximum efficiency
  • Apply simplified and accurate implant denture protocols in fewer visits using traditional chairside techniques and digital technology
  • Adapt treatment to safely navigate surgeries for older and medically compromised patients
  • Learn to evaluate anticoagulants, bisphosphonates and other prescription medications before surgeries
  • Apply fundamentals of implant surgery for overdentures in model-based, hands-on session

Dr. Raymond Choi

Raymond Choi, DDS, M.S.

Dr. Raymond Choi received his DDS from the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC and has taught there for over 10 years as an assistant clinical professor. He is currently an adjunct clinical faculty member at Western University of Health Sciences College of Dental Medicine, and he recently completed a three-year master’s degree program in geriatric dentistry at USC. Dr. Choi is also a fellow of the ICOI, an associate fellow of the AAID, and a graduate of the Misch-Resnik Implant Institute. As a general dentist who has been placing implants for over 20 years in his private practice in Tustin, California, he was one of the first dentists on the West Coast to place mini dental implants for loose-denture stabilization.
