Course Synopsis

Restoring Dental Implants: From Digital Impression to Final Restoration

Presenter: Taylor Manalili, DDS

This comprehensive one-day course bridges the gap between implant placement and prosthetic restoration, focusing on the clinical and technical aspects of restoring dental implants in modern practice. Participants will gain practical knowledge in both analog and digital workflows, with emphasis on single-unit restorations while exploring multiple implant and full-arch rehabilitation protocols. The course includes a hands-on component where participants will practice digital scanning with an intraoral scanner and review the delivery considerations for screw-retained versus screw-mentable restorations.

Participants will learn to navigate the decision-making process between traditional and digital workflows, master impression techniques for various clinical scenarios, and understand the integration of CAD/CAM technology in implant dentistry.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify and select appropriate components for single-unit, multiple-unit, and full-arch implant restorations.
  • Differentiate between analog and digital impression workflows and determine optimal approach for specific clinical scenarios.
  • Recognize common impression errors and implement corrective strategies.
  • Evaluate tissue health and implant position to determine restorability and prosthetic options.
  • Troubleshoot clinical challenges in implant restoration including emergence profile development, screw-retained vs. cement-retained considerations, and occlusal scheme design.

3D Printing for Bite Splints, Sleep Devices, and Dentures – Expanding Clinical Possibilities

Presenter: Bianca Clark, DDS

This course will strengthen your understanding and confidence in using 3D printing technology for a wide range of clinical applications, from occlusal guards and sleep appliances to complete and partial dentures. Learn how to integrate 3D printing into your practice with efficient, predictable workflows.

Hands-on demonstrations will guide participants through each stage of the 3D printing process, including scanning, design, printing, post-processing, and delivery of finished devices. Participants will also explore emerging opportunities for 3D printing and explore strategies to leverage this technology for long-term practice growth.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand the 3D printing workflow for bite appliances, sleep devices, and dentures.
  • Evaluate digital design options, printer technologies, and material considerations.
  • Compare advantages of in-house versus outsourced 3D printing solutions.
  • Apply post-processing protocols to achieve accurate, durable, and esthetic results.
  • Identify opportunities for expanding clinical services through 3D printing.
